When God Asks You to Let Go

When God asks you to give Him something, it’s not because He needs anything from you. It’s because He wants to give you something far greater.

He asked me a long time ago to give Him my music. I loved playing in bands, but there was a disconnect between what I was singing about and what mattered most to me. I held on because I didn’t want that season to change.

But God was changing my heart long before He called me to change my habit. He was helping me let go before He called me to let go.

I gave God my music, and while I lost things I loved, I’ve made more music that mattered to me ever since. He gave me everything when I gave Him my little something.

When God asks you for something, don’t be afraid. He always gives you back what’s better.

“If you knew the gift of God…you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.” – John‬ ‭4:7, 9-10‬ ‭
