August 20, 2026

Drugs, violence, discovering you’re about to become a father…and all of this this by the age of 14.

You’d never know looking at Dr. James Harris, Jr., – or “Doc James” as I call him – that this this is part of his story, but isn’t this the power of God’s redemption?

I met Doc James in our Brazilian jiu-jitsu class, and as I got to know him, I knew I had to share his amazing story with you.

In our conversation, you’ll hear Doc James’ inspiring story of how God took a young man surrounded by drugs and violence, who was stealing cars and cheating his way through school, to becoming a general surgeon and the chair of surgery at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center,

God took a young man from Fresno, California, and met him and his family at every turn. You may be surprised how much of Doc James’ story is in yours. You could be the grandmother who is praying for her grandson, the Bible study leader who is walking someone through their early days of knowing Jesus, or the husband who is comforting his family through an unimaginable circumstance while wrestling with his inability to make it better.

Take a listen and be inspired by at how God is at work.
