Pour Into Others As God Pours Into You

I love the feature on my coffee maker that allows me to get my 1st cup while it’s still brewing the whole pot.

It’s making lots of noise, doing that magical thing it does, and the pot is starting to be filled, slowly, with that sweet nectar of life force known as black coffee. But I don’t have to wait until it’s done and the pot is full.

I can break into the process, pull that coffee pot off the coffee maker and fill my cup and then put the pot back on and it resumes like nothing ever happened. I get to enjoy the coffee that is in my cup while it’s still brewing into the coffee pot.

God is so good, y’all. Aren’t you glad you don’t have to wait until God has completely finished His work on you before you start serving Him? He works through us while He’s working on us. We are wounded healers – all of us! And we can be part of building God’s kingdom, pouring out to others, even as He is still sculpting, molding, and making us into who we are becoming in Christ. Just because you don’t see yourself as qualified or done learning, doesn’t mean you don’t have something to give right now. Fill up your cup and come back for more.

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”
-Paul, Phil1:3-6
