Molly’s Minute: Where Did You Leave God Last?

At least once a week, I help my husband, Vaughn, find something that he lost.
This week, it was his favorite hat.
And at this point, I’m not sure why he even asks for my help, because I always ask him the same question:
“Where did you leave it last?”
And that question always leads to him finding whatever he lost. Every time.
Because—most of the time—when we can’t find something, it’s waiting for us right where we left it.
And God is the same way.
Ravi Zacharias once said that when we can’t find God or when He feels far away, it’s because “that is where we have put Him. We have kept Him at a distance, and then, when we are in need and call on Him in prayer, we wonder where He is. He is exactly where we left him.”
However far away we left God last, that’s where He’ll be the next time we look for Him.
So, let’s draw Him close and keep Him close today, so He’ll never be too hard to find.
Romans 8:39-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
