Molly’s Minute: The Promise Keeper

In the book of Genesis, chapter 12, God speaks to a man named Abram and promises to do something amazing with his life.
He tells Abram, “I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.”
This promise seems impossible, though, due to a couple of factors. First of all, God is calling Abram to leave his own homeland, and everything he knows. And up until this point, Abram and his wife, Sarai, haven’t been able to have any children.
So, they don’t have two of the main things you need to be a nation: land and people.
But despite how unlikely, how downright impossible it seems, God keeps his promise.
God gives Abram and Sarai a son. Through their family line comes the whole nation of Israel, all of its kings, and eventually, Jesus. And through Jesus came salvation for the whole world.
This story is proof that our God is faithful, and that He has the power to turn any and every situation around.
So, whatever promise of God’s seems too far out of reach for you today, remember that it isn’t out of reach for Him. He is mighty. And He keeps every promise.
