Molly’s Minute: Success

January 16, 2020

You know those people who just have it all together? The ones that are the definition of success for you?

You look up to them, maybe you’re a little jealous of them, and you might even make them your yardstick for success. You think, “Once I’m where they are, that’s when I’ll know I’ve made it. Then, I’ll be successful.”

Who is that person for you? And what makes them successful in your eyes?

Is it their job? Or their house? Their car? Their lifestyle?

I want to tell you today that true success in God’s eyes is not about what we have. It’s not about money, or power, or our possessions.

It’s about what we do and who we do it for.

In the words of Christine Caine, “Success is discovering and doing God’s will for your life.”

So, don’t compare yourself to anybody else. Don’t strive for the things that other people have.

Instead, strive to figure out what God is calling you to do, and do it. And if you’re already doing that, then my friend, you’re already successful in God’s eyes!

Maybe you struggle with comparison, or maybe you can’t figure out what God wants you to do with your life. If that’s you, and you’d like someone to pray for you, I’m always here. You can reach me through email at mchambers@brightfm.com.

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
