Molly’s Minute: Reflecting God’s Love

July 24, 2020

Fun fact: when they were building the pyramids, the ancient Egyptians used mirrors for light.

The insides of the pyramids could get really dark. So to bring in some light, they would place one mirror right at the entrance to the pyramid. And then they’d set up a bunch of other mirrors on the inside.

They would turn the first mirror to catch the sun, and it would start a chain reaction. The sunlight would bounce from the first mirror to the second mirror. Then onto the third and then the fourth, and so on and so on, until the inside of the pyramid was full of reflected light.

And it all started with that first mirror reflecting the sun.

As Christians, we are like that first mirror, reflecting God’s love onto others. And we can spark that same kind of chain reactionreflecting His love onto person after person.

But that first mirror needed to face the sun to catch its light. And we have to be facing God to reflect His love.

So, let’s turn and face Him today, so we can reflect His love into the world.

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
