Molly’s Minute: Lay Your Burden Down

One of the best parts of traveling for me is getting to my destination and putting down my luggage.
Maybe I just pack heavy. But after lugging my bags into the car, then back out of the car, and then into wherever we’re staying, there’s truly no feeling like putting it all down, for good. Laying it on the floor and knowing I don’t have to pick it up again until we leave, I can have a break.
Maybe you’re carrying something heavy with you right now. It’s weighing you down. You’re tired. And you just want a break from carrying it.
If that’s what you’re feeling, I’d encourage you to go to God. Ask Him to take that burden from you, and He will.
In Matthew, Jesus says, “Come to me, all who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
When our burdens get too heavy, we can always lay them down. Jesus is always ready to take the weight off of us and give us a break.
All we have to do is ask Him to.
Matthew 11:28 “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.'”
