Molly’s Minute: Jesus Won’t Run Away

In Matthew chapter 8, Jesus is approached by a man with leprosy—a common skin disease for that time. The man comes forward, kneels before Jesus, and asks Him for healing.
Now, in Jesus’ culture, leprosy meant isolation. If you caught it, you had to live separate from the rest of the community. So, this man’s condition would have driven anyone else away.
But Jesus moves toward him.
He lays a hand right on him and heals him of his disease.
There are parts of you and I that might make others want to keep their distance—our pasts, our flaws, our sins. But just like for that leper, those things don’t drive Jesus away.
They tug on his heart and draw Him near to you.
So, today, don’t be afraid to kneel before Jesus, to show Him every part of you and ask for healing.
Because, no matter what you’ve got to show Him, He won’t run away. He’ll only move closer to show you compassion.
Matthew 8:2-3 “And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, ‘Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.‘ And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, ‘I will; be clean.’ And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”
