Molly’s Minute: Flexing The Gratitude Muscle

It’s been a goal of mine over the past few months to start waking up earlier.
That’s not something that comes naturally to me, so it was really hard to do at first. But it ended up being a muscle that I just needed to flex and make stronger.
The more I woke up early, the easier it was to keep it up. And now, I naturally get up early every day.
Gratitude is the same way for a lot of us. It’s a muscle.
And when we aren’t used to flexing that muscle, we aren’t as quick to give thanks for the things that happen to us and the things we have.
But when we start intentionally expressing gratitude more and more, that muscle gets stronger. We see a blessing from God, we immediately appreciate it and give thanks to Him for it, and it becomes more and more natural for us to express gratitude.
So, I’d encourage you not to skip your gratitude workout today. You can even do one right now! Just think of one thing you’re grateful for, give thanks to God for it, and feel that muscle growing stronger.
Psalm 107:1 “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
