Molly’s Minute: Fight, Flight, or Freeze? None Of The Above.
I’ve heard that there are three possible responses to fear:
Fight, flight, or freeze.
So, when we’re faced with fear, those are our options. We could try and fight back, we could run away from the problem, or we could become overwhelmed by the situation in front of us and freeze up.
Now I don’t know about you, but I don’t like any of those three options. So, I’d like to add a fourth:
When fear threatens to consume us, the best thing we can do is put our faith in God.
Our God is so good, so trustworthy, and so much bigger than any scary situation we could face. So, we don’t have to try and fight on our own, we don’t have to run away, and we don’t have to be frozen by fear.
If we put our faith in Him—and He is SO worthy of our faith—fear has no power over us anymore.
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
