Molly’s Minute: Faith, No Matter The Circumstance

In the book of Luke, chapter five, a group of men hear that Jesus is in their village, healing the sick.
They have a friend who’s paralyzed, and they know Jesus can heal him. So, they carry him to the house where Jesus is.
But they can’t get inside.
The way into the house is too crowded, and they can’t make it through.
Right then and there, these men could have given up. They could have turned around and taken their friend back home.
But they don’t.
They carry their friend up to the roof and lower him down into the house in front of Jesus. And Jesus, seeing their faith, heals their friend. The man stands up, picks up the bed he’d been laying on, and carries it home himself.
These men didn’t just believe in Jesus when it was easy.
They kept believing in Him and kept pursuing Him even when circumstances tried to get them to turn away. And Jesus proved to be everything they believed Him to be and more.
So, today, let’s pray for that same faith that perseveres through whatever circumstances we face. Because, no matter the circumstance, He is faithful.
Luke 5:24-25 “…he said to the man who was paralyzed—’I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.’ And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God.”
