Feeling Overwhelmed? Try This

When problems show up, what’s your first response? Do you immediately try to fix everything yourself, or do you bring it to God first?

In Isaiah 22, Judah prepared for an approaching attack by gathering weapons, strengthening the city walls, and storing water. They did everything that seemed wise, but they forgot the most important step: asking God for help.

“But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago.”Isaiah 22:11

It’s easy to do the same thing. We make plans, search for solutions, and rely on our own strength before turning to the One who has unlimited power and wisdom. The good news is that God doesn’t ask us to face life’s battles alone. He invites us to trust Him first.

Here are four verses to hold onto when you’re facing a challenge:

“But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago.”Isaiah 22:11

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”Exodus 14:14

“The Lord will go ahead of you; yes, the God of Israel will protect you from behind.”Isaiah 52:12

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything… Then you will experience God’s peace.”Philippians 4:6-7

The next time you’re facing a problem, pause before you panic. Invite God into the situation first, trust His guidance, and remember that He is already at work on your behalf.
