Prayers For Moms From Moms
There are countless types of moms in the world, each just as valuable and special as the next. We have gathered the moms on staff at BRIGHT-FM to provide prayers that relate to their own situations, and we pray that you or a mom you know will relate to them as well.
May these prayers strengthen you, comfort you, and remind you how loved you are.
A Prayer for the single mother:
Father God, I pray You bless single mothers with wisdom, strength, and courage as they raise children in the unforeseen circumstances, experiences, and challenges of this world. Reveal Your power within these phenomenal women as they raise children according to Your will and purpose for their lives. Help them place all cares, dreams, anxieties, and fears in Your hands as they grow into a deeper relationship with You. I ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen
A Prayer for the mother of young children:
Dear God, I pray for Your daughters, the moms of young children. The mom who wakes up before dawn when it’s still dark outside, when the world is still resting in bed, to fit in at least a few minutes of devotion and to prepare for their baby’s most important meal of the day. When makeup is replaced with a smile and the tasks to take care of our precious babies become overwhelming, we pray you will strengthen us and give us wisdom in Jesus’ name. Amen.
A Prayer for the mother of a miscarriage:
Dear Lord, Thank You for the gift of motherhood, for as long or as short as You give it to us. Comfort us when the pain of loss overwhelms us and when we can’t understand. This hurt can be unbearable, Lord. Please carry our burdens (Matthew 11:28-30). Empower us to trust that Your plan is good, despite the pain, and let us lean into the hope that you promise. Amen.
A Prayer for the step-mother:
God, Thank You for the amazing grace that gives fresh starts, the love that heals, and the gift of Your glorious presence to guide and encourage us. You work all things together for good for those who love You, so help us step-moms to always bring good to this precious family entrusted to us. Give us BIG, soft hearts full of love – the relentless, resilient love that is not easily offended and the love that just keeps showing up. Help us to bring our needs to You, not to our kids, so that we can love them freely, joyfully, and be a blessing to them. Let us always honor You in this beautiful tapestry of family that You’ve woven together. Thank You for inviting me to be a redemptive part of a story that You are still writing. Amen.
A Prayer for the working mother:
Help me, Lord! You have entrusted me with wonderful children and they are gifts and blessings. You have also entrusted me with a career. Please give me wisdom to guide my children and love them like You do as I also balance the responsibilities of a job. Please speak through me, Lord, words my children’s hearts will receive and give me strength to face the demands of each day. Most of all, I pray You will help my family to know Your goodness and Your constant love for us. I trust you Lord. I can’t do this without You. Amen!
A Prayer for the mother with an empty nest:
Gracious Father, You blessed me with this gift of my child and entrusted me with his/her care. Grant me comfort in knowing that my child is Your child too and Your love of this precious one is greater than I could even fathom. I pray Your Spirit fills them, and in whatever path they take, may their eyes remain focused on You. May Your grace and love surround us as we enter into this new phase of life. Amen.
