Molly’s Minute: When “No” Is A Gift
Growing up, my parents always told me that the word “no” was a gift.
But hearing them say “no” never felt like a gift to me. Mostly, it just felt frustrating and disappointing.
As I’ve gotten older, though, I’ve learned that a loving parent always knows when “no” is the best answer.
And our loving Father God is no exception.
Just before He was betrayed, Jesus prayed to God, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me.”
As we know, God did not remove that cup from Jesus. He sent Jesus to be betrayed, arrested, and crucified.
But as we also know, God’s “no” to Jesus was a gift—a gift for all of us who were saved through His sacrifice.
So, if you’re hearing God telling you “no” today, I hope that knowledge brings you peace.
Your loving Father will never withhold from you what’s best for you. He always knows when “no” is a gift.
