Life Is a Lot Like a Road

When I was six years old, I got a diagnosis that changed everything: Type 1 Diabetes. At that age, I didn’t fully understand what it meant. I just knew life suddenly felt different. There were needles, routines, and questions I couldn’t answer. More than anything, I remember feeling unsure about the future. What was my life supposed to look like now?

I didn’t know it then, but that diagnosis was the start of a journey filled with unexpected turns and detours. But along the way, I discovered joy in places I never expected. I found strength I didn’t know I had. And I found freedom in something that might surprise you: riding motorcycles.

Being out on the road reminds me so much of life. Sometimes it’s smooth and easy. Other times, you hit sharp turns or rough patches. But every mile teaches you something. And often, the most unpredictable roads lead to the most beautiful places.

Through it all, I’ve trusted that the Lord would keep me on the right path. I may not have known where I was going, but I believed He did. And looking back, I can see His hand in every turn.

If you’re facing a tough season, whether it’s a diagnosis, a loss, or just uncertainty, take heart. You’re not alone. God sees every mile ahead of you, even when you can’t.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just keep going. Keep trusting. The beauty is in the journey!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11
