Gratitude in the Everyday
The story of Daniel reminds us what steady faith looks like. Daniel was known for being faithful, responsible, and trustworthy. Because of his character, King Darius placed him in charge of the kingdom, which made others jealous. When they could find no fault in him, they targeted his faith.
They convinced the king to make a law that no one could pray to anyone except the king for thirty days. Daniel didn’t panic. He went home, opened his windows toward Jerusalem, and prayed three times a day, giving thanks to God, just as he always had. – Daniel 6:10
Even when he was thrown into the lions’ den, Daniel trusted God. The next morning, the king found him unharmed because God had protected him.
Daniel’s faithfulness shows the power of daily gratitude. His prayer life wasn’t something he turned to only in crisis. It was already part of his everyday routine. When challenges came, he responded from a heart already grounded in thankfulness.
Gratitude in ordinary moments prepares the heart to trust God in extraordinary ones.
