When Change Shakes Things Up

October 28, 2026
Stephanie Eshelman

When someone chooses to make a positive change, it can sometimes make others uncomfortable. Saying no to unhealthy habits, setting boundaries, or saying yes to what God is calling you to do often brings resistance.

When that happens, remember to give grace. God may be working in someone’s heart through what He is doing in yours.

“The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.” – Psalm 145:8

Keep going. Stay faithful to what God has asked of you, even when others do not understand.

“Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.” – Galatians 6:9

Respond with kindness. Change can be contagious. The steps you take may inspire someone else to take their own.
