You Weren’t Meant to Burn Out
In the Gospel of Mark 6:31, the disciples returned from a busy season of ministry, worn out from serving others. Jesus saw their exhaustion and didn’t push them to keep going. Instead, He gently invited them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
That invitation still matters for us today.
God sees how hard you’re working. He knows when you’re tired, overwhelmed, or running on empty. And His response isn’t more pressure, it’s rest.
Exhaustion isn’t something to be proud of. Even Jesus made space for rest, and He calls us to do the same. When life feels nonstop, His words are simple. Come away. Be still. Rest.
Hold onto these reminders:
- Matthew 11:28 – He will give you rest.
- Hebrews 4:9 –10 – God has rest waiting for you.
- Psalms 4:8 – You can rest in His peace.
- Jeremiah 6:16 – His ways lead to rest.
- Psalm 23 – He leads you to still, peaceful places.
Rest isn’t falling behind. It’s trusting God enough to pause.
