Why Does God Care About Who We Hang Out With?

Have you ever heard the old phrase, “it only takes one rotten apple to spoil the bushel”? Or barrel? Or bunch Whatever the phrase is, you’ve probably heard some form of it.

This phrase often applies to friendships or relationships, and with very good reason!

So…why? I’m glad you asked!

The people we hang out with tend to affect us, whether positively or negatively. I’d be 100% wrong if I said that it is ALWAYS a bad outcome because I have most definitely been positively affected by others. But, hey, I’ve also been positively affected by losing some relationships along the way.

Moral of the story is this…be careful who you choose as your closest friends.

I want to encourage you today to spend time with those who bring out the absolute best in you, those who are in your corner, those who also want to become more like Jesus.

“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” – Proverbs 13:20
