You’ve probably heard the old saying, “It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch.” Or is it a barrel? A bushel? Either way, you get the idea.

That phrase rings especially true when it comes to friendships and relationships.

So why does one person have such an impact? Great question.

The people we spend time with shape us, for better or worse. It’s not always negative. I’ve definitely grown for the better because of good friendships. And honestly, I’ve also grown in really healthy ways after letting go of the wrong ones.

Here’s the takeaway: choose your closest friends wisely.

Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you, who cheer you on, and who are growing toward Jesus right alongside you.

“Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.Proverbs 13:20
