When You Feel Like A Waste of Space

One day, I received a heart breaking phone call from a listener. “I wish I could go back and tell my mom to not even have me. I feel like I’m wasting space,” were her words. We prayed with her, and we’ve talked with her since then. We’re so glad she reached out to us.
If you feel completely worthless and like a waste of space, I want you to know and BELIEVE these things:
You were created with care.
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” – Psalm 139:13
God was thinking about you before you were even born.
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” – Psalm 139:16
God thinks about you with great tenderness.
“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!” – Psalm 139:17-18
You are God’s masterpiece, and He created you with purpose.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2:10
God knows you’re crying and keeps each of your tears.
“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” – Psalm 56:8
God sings over you.
“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” – Zephaniah 3:17
God loves you so much that He sent His son to die for you so you’d never be parted.
“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” – 1 John 4:9-10
You can stop Satan’s negative mix tape by doing this:
“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” – Philippians 4:8
When a flower needs water, what do you do? You grab a watering can, fill it with water, and water that flower so it can become strong again. When you read Scripture, it is literally like pouring living water over yourself so you can become strong. Feed your soul and mind with these truths. I’d also recommend that you reach out to your pastor or a Christian counselor. Never be ashamed to reach out for help and let someone speak life into you. You are valued and valuable to God!
