What’s Keeping You From Encouraging Others?

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.”
‭‭- Proverbs‬ ‭3:27‬

It’s so easy to encourage others.

It’s so easy to say a few intentional words that could lift someone up, to notice something you appreciate about someone and mention it. It’s easy… and I LOVE to do it.

Yet sometimes I feel a battle going on internally about WHO I will encourage. If I’m holding a grudge or any kind of resentment or jealousy, I may feel the inclination to withhold my usually free-flowing encouragement.

Here’s a tip: If you’re evaluating who “deserves” your encouragement – it’s a red flag that you’ve got a spiritual issue, maybe some pride, that God wants to help YOU with.

Pay attention to those little nudges and notice why you won’t encourage someone. Talk to God about it. He’ll show you what’s really going on.
