What Elevation Worship Hopes “Praise” Does for You

Some days, praise feels easy. Other days, it’s more difficult to get your heart to worship. Praise by Elevation Worship is a song that’ll get you singing God’s praises any kind of day.

Chris from Elevation Worship says that the idea to write the song came from the book of Psalms.

“There’s a great command in Psalm 150 that says, ‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord,’” he shared.

We are commanded by God to worship, because He deserves it. But, just like with all of God’s commands, we don’t always follow this one the way we should. Chris says that Elevation wrote the song to help us fulfill that command, even on the days when it’s difficult.

He says, “Some days, it can be hard to find a reason to praise God. But if we simply start with this: ‘I’ve got breath in my lungs today, so that alone is reason enough to thank God, reason enough for me to praise him.’”

Sometimes our hearts need a jumpstart into worship, and one simple thing that we’re grateful for—like the breath in our lungs—can be that. If we can find one thing to thank God for, soon we’ll find another, and then another, until we’re all-out praising His name.

Thankfully, as Chris says, “Praise is just that. It’s one reason after another reason to praise the Lord.”
