What Does It Mean To Have ‘Christ In Me?’

27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. 29 To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. – Colossians 1:27-29

This is a mini-exploration of one of the greatest mysteries of the Christian faith.

Having “Christ in us.”

It calls out two seemingly absurd ideas: we contend for the faith, and we do it with Christ’s energy. Having “Christ in us” brings these two almost contradictory ideas together.

Having Christ in us doesn’t mean we stop working and just sit back and relax. It also doesn’t mean we have to do it ALL either. We contend, we claim, we hold, we affirm, we pronounce, and we declare our faith. The key to all this? We don’t do it on our own. We do it all with Jesus’ energy and power.

This is a tremendous gift that he’s made possible. Man… that leaves me undone and humbled and brought to my knees. HE will bring us to glory! In our weakness HE is strong, HE will complete the work HE has begun. HE himself is within us, leading us back home every step of the way.

Every believer has been given this gift. Listen below as this episode of VERSED explores even more what it means to have “Christ in us”
