What do I do with these eclipse glasses now?

A photo of the partial eclipse through clouds
April 9, 2024

They were the most popular sunglasses in Maryland for about 10 minutes.

Everyone was rocking the paper eclipse glasses to look up and safely see the partial eclipse yesterday. But now what do you do with them? They won’t be good in 2045 – that’s when the next eclipse happens in the US. And you COULD just stare up at the sun with them – but that probably isn’t the best use of an afternoon.

Put those glasses to good use and donate them!

Eclipse Glasses USA is currently collecting undamaged eclipse glasses. They’ll send the glasses to school children in Latin America so they can safely view the eclipse later this year.
