Today’s To-Do List From Luke 6

Luke 6:37-38 NLT says: “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
When we demonstrate a true forgiving spirit, we show that we are aware of the forgiveness that God has offered us through His Son and that we have fully received that gift. When we spend intentional time reflecting on how much grace, love, and forgiveness God has shown us, it’s impossible not to want to share those things with the people around us.
The more time we spend with Jesus, the more grace, love, and forgiveness will become second nature to us; these characteristics will make us stand out from the world we live in. Why? Because our society has become far more critical than it is compassionate.
As followers of Jesus, we are to do the opposite. If we treat others with a sense of generosity, with a sense of gratitude, show them grace, and just simply care about them, it will point people to Jesus and glorify our Heavenly Father. Luke 6:37-38 also reminds us that this grace and kindness will come back to us in full measure.
We have to be the change, we have to set the standard, we have to show the world what it means to follow Jesus. We are to love God and love people.
This is a reminder each of us need, daily. Today and every day, let’s be the light the world so desperately needs.
