TobyMac On His New Song, “Nothin’ Sweeter”
There’s something better than anything and everything you could experience in life, and it’s yours. It’s God’s love, and it’s what TobyMac’s newest song, Nothin’ Sweeter, rejoices in.
There’s been so many times I got it so wrong
And a couple that I got just right (Right)
I’ve seen the view from the top of the world
And the sorrow by the bitter graveside
I’ve seen some prayers get answered, and I’ve heard my share o’ ‘no’s
But there’s never been a moment that You let me go
Toby wrote the song with the ebbs and flows of life that we all go through in mind. He says, “We all experience the goodness of God and we all experience some things that we’re just utterly confused and hurt deeply by.”

In the spotlight, I’ve been broke down
I’ve seen so much, might not know much

In the good times, through the hard times

In recent years, Toby himself has been through some truly amazing and some truly heavy things. But through them all, he found that God’s love was something steadfast and good that he could always find comfort in.

God and His love are better than anything else. In love, God sent His son to come and die in your place. Through that sacrifice, your sins have been forgiven, the distance between you and God has been covered, and your future forever in heaven secured. What sweeter news is there than that? As Toby puts it, “Ain’t nothin sweeter.”
