“Scars In Heaven” by Casting Crowns has quickly become one of the most loved songs on our station, and it’s not difficult to see why.
A song about hope in the midst of loss, “Scars In Heaven” offers encouragement for anyone who has lost someone they love. It’s a comforting reminder that, in the end, Jesus wipes away every tear, eradicates every disease, and heals every wound.
“The only scars in Heaven are on the hands that hold you now,” Mark Hall sings in the chorus. But those lyrics aren’t only to reassure you. They pack a personal meaning for Mark as well.
Mark started writing the song as his grandparents slowly passed away. It was a difficult time for Mark, his mom, and his entire family, but he found encouragement and inspiration in one particular story in Scripture.
