The Story Behind “Be Alright” By Evan Craft And Danny Gokey

What do you do when your circumstances don’t seem to line up with God’s promises?
That’s what Evan Craft and Danny Gokey hope to show you with their new song, “Be Alright.”
“Be Alright” perfectly reflects the confusion and doubt we can feel when walking through a tough season. But in the end, it encourages us to believe in who God is and what He says over what we’re feeling.
They say You hold the whole universe in Your hand
But my world’s falling apart like it is made of sand
Am I small enough to slip through the cracks?
Can You take my broken pieces and put them back?
Give me faith to believe You are on my side
Open my eyes to see You working in my life
Let the past remind me You never fail
Tell my soul “It is well”
Y todo va a estar bien
Everything will be alright
But the point isn’t that everything will just be okay.
God promises that He will make everything good for those who believe in Him.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.“
Things might not feel good for us in the moment. But even then, we can be sure that God is moving the course of our lives and all of history in the good direction He has chosen. That’s what “Be Alright” is all about.
Wondering about the Spanish in the song?
The line in the chorus, “y todo va a estar bien,” means, “and everything will be alright.” Now you know, for the next time you sing along!
Evan Craft first wrote and released “Be Alright” in Spanish along with Remidi2 and Sean Cook last year. With the uncertainty of 2020, the song became an anthem for many Spanish-speaking listeners.
But Evan had one particular person in mind when writing it.
Listen to Evan share the intention and inspiration behind “Be Alright” here:
We’re hoping and praying that this song encourages you to trust in God’s care for you and control over your life, no matter what your situation looks like.
He would never let you slip through the cracks.
