Pumpkins, Corn Mazes, Hay Rides, Oh My!

I don’t know about you, but I grew up in a home where holidays and seasons were celebrated. When fall rolled around, my mom had the fall decorations’ box out and the decorations were placed throughout the house. It was an explosion of red, yellow, and orange!
She would take us to pumpkin patches to pick out pumpkins to carve and decorate the front porch. Ultimately, those pumpkins became squirrel food or a toy for the dog to roll around the yard and shred, but we spent time together as a family enjoying the fall season and that was the important part.
I love that my mom did that. Whether she intended to or not, she modeled for us how to embrace seasons and be present in them. As an adult, it is one of the many things I appreciate about growing up in her home.
If you want to start a new fall tradition or just want to embrace the season with your family, here are just a few places in Maryland where your family can make fall memories together.
