More Than Three Decades with BRIGHT-FM: Stories of Hope
For more than three decades, Marlene has made BRIGHT-FM part of the rhythm of her everyday life.
It started when her best friend, Veronica, whom she has known since fourth grade, introduced her to the Saturday stories on BRIGHT-FM. Marlene was hooked, and over the years, the station became much more than something playing in the background.
“My Praise and Worship journey has found its home,” Marlene shared. “In my early years, I jumped from station to station. Now BRIGHT-FM 95.1 is fixed in my home and vehicle.”
Her children even knew there was one rule in the car: don’t change the station.
Through every season, Marlene says God has used BRIGHT-FM to remind her that His Word is always near, especially when life throws a curveball. The music continues to lift her up and point her back to God’s goodness and faithfulness.
But Marlene doesn’t only listen. She serves.
During Fall Fundraiser, you can find her volunteering in the BRIGHT-FM Call Center, a place she says feels like spending the day with family. Serving others has been part of her life for as long as she can remember, and today, after finishing her Call Center shift, she even called back in to make a gift herself.
“Life long listener and volunteer. Love station and love God. Just left the volunteer Call Center and called in.”
