If You’re Struggling To Make A Decision, Read This First
Have you ever been caught in the middle of a tough decision, completely torn, and unsure which direction to go?
Sometimes we get so caught up and concerned about making the right decision that we fail to make any decision at all. Wouldn’t it be so much easier if God simply sent us a letter or a text telling us what to do? Well, unfortunately, God doesn’t usually work that way.
However, there is good news: as long as our hearts are seeking after God, we don’t have to fear that we will make a wrong decision because He promises to direct and give us a clear pathway (Proverbs 3:6). As author and speaker Lysa Terkeurst says, “If your heart and your mind are aligned in the direction of God, you don’t have to agonize to the point of paralysis over the decisions before you.”
This week, let’s rest in the truth that God is not only bigger than our decisions, but He is also in the middle of them – directing, guiding, and watching over us.
“In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:6
“Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.'” – Isaiah 30:20-21
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” –Psalm 32:8
