How Shawn’s Life Was Transformed Thanks to a Camp Scholarship
God draws people to Him in unique ways. For so many, it’s through a song at just the right time. For others, it might be a week of summer camp.
Shawn arrived at River Valley Ranch hesitant and unsure, not knowing anyone else. It had been a difficult summer moving in with his grandmother after his mother recently moved out of state. His father passed away when Shawn was just 5.
His grandmother was hopeful, dropping him off at RVR, but worried too. But when she picked him up, he was already talking about wanting to go back next year he loved camp so much! “Shawn made amazing friends,” she shared. “The programs showed him the grace and compassion afforded through Jesus and His love for us. Every moment at RVR was positive and uplifting.”
A scholarship made it possible for Shawn to attend camp, thanks to the donations of RVR partners. Here are the powerful words of gratitude Shawn’s grandmother feels towards those who give to this program:
