Anne Wilson shook the Christian music scene with her incredibly powerful breakout single, “My Jesus.” Now, she’s back to point people to Christ through her music yet again with her new song, “Sunday Sermons.”

When describing and setting the scene for her next single, Anne Wilson recalled the life-changing and indescribable work God brought out of the tragedy of losing her brother Jacob, which was what her first single was inspired by. She explains that throughout the years after Jacob died,“not only did God heal my family and our hearts, but He brought something so beautiful out of a tragedy.”

One of the ways God brought beauty and healing from Anne’s story is through her songs and how they’ve touched the world. Her biggest goal and prayer for this new release is that it will “continue to bring glory to the name of Jesus and honor Him in that way.”

Written in September of 2021, “Sunday Sermons” is one of the singer’s favorite songs she’s ever been a part of. The lyrics paint a picture of her life as she grew up going to church every Sunday and how God used those times to build a firm foundation. Anne explains that as she grew in her faith, she came to understand how all the moments in church, every prayer her parents prayed over her, each “Sunday Sermon,” was used by God to draw her to Himself before she even accepted Him as her Savior.

This song isn’t just for those who grew up in church, however. It’s an anthem for each person to be reminded that God is using every moment of our lives for good and that He is waiting with open arms to accept you, no matter what your past looks like.

As you listen to this new song, we join Anne Wilson in praying that “if you feel lost, too far gone, or like you have nowhere else to go,” you will be reminded of this truth: “Jesus is always there and His arms are wide open.”
