An Invitation From Jesus To Rest

In Mark 6:31, Jesus’ apostles had just finished a long period of healing the sick, preaching the Gospel, and driving out impure spirits.
After they returned, Jesus recognized something crucial. His apostles were tired.
30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat…”
So what was Jesus’ response to His disciples’ weariness? He simply said “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest” (Mark 6:31).
Jesus didn’t tell them to work through their fatigue or to suck it up. Instead, He understood their struggle and cared deeply for them.
God sees how hard you’ve been working. He sees how emotionally and spiritually drained you are, and He wants to provide you relief.
Remember, exhaustion is not a badge of honor. Jesus knew the value of rest and so should we. If you’re feeling burdened, stressed, or just plain tired, follow Jesus’ directions and, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
