A Prayer Of Thanksgiving

Dear Lord,
This week we celebrate a holiday we call Thanksgiving. It’s been a hard year, Lord. At times it’s been hard to see, feel, and experience blessings in a year so filled with loss, fear, and uncertainty. But as we begin this week, we pause to praise you and give You thanks.
Thank you, Lord, for providing for us the way you provided for the Israelites in the wilderness… day by day, with exactly what we need.
Thank you, Lord, that even though our celebrations will look different this year, we can still celebrate.
Thank you, Lord, for the promise that enduring through trials “produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (Romans 5:3-5).
Thank you, Lord, for Your comforting hand that has given us Your hope when we’ve needed it most.
Thank you, Lord, for showing us how resilient and resourceful we can be.
Thank you, Lord, for reminding us of the things that are truly important.
Thank you, Lord, for the explosion of the Gospel through live streaming this year so more people can come to know You.
Lord, you are more than worthy of our praise. We celebrate You. We are grateful for the love You pour out on us. We love you, Lord, and we give you our thanks.
Amen.
