A Prayer For Teachers During Teacher Appreciation Week

Teachers always make sacrifices, adjustments, and accommodations for their students. They lead with patience, kindness, and compassion. We want to make sure they know they are seen, valued, and appreciated.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and Monday, May 5th is Teacher Appreciation Day. We want the teachers in our community to feel supported and celebrated not just this week, but all year long. Please join us in this prayer for the teachers in your life. Pray it on your own, and feel free to share it with a teacher you love to let them know you’re praying for them!

Lord, today we lift up our teachers.
We appreciate them every day, but this week especially, we pray they know just how much they mean to us.

Father, thank You for every teacher and educator who works so diligently to shape the hearts and minds of the next generation. Strengthen them with wisdom, patience, and joy as they use their gifts to inspire and educate.

We ask for Your protection over their health physically, mentally, and spiritually. Refresh their energy daily and give them the creativity and endurance they need for each lesson, each student, and each challenge.

Help them to offer grace not only to their students, but to themselves. When things don’t go according to plan, remind them that their work still matters and that they are making a difference.

Surround them with encouragement from their school community, coworkers, and families. Remind them that they are not alone in this calling.

And Father, fill them with a deep sense of purpose and hope. Let them find joy in the moments that matter, and assurance that the seeds they plant today will bear fruit in the future.
