How These Parents Are Sharing Their Faith with Their Kids
“And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” – Deuteronomy 6:6-7
As a parent who has experienced God’s love, of course you want your kids to know Him and experience it, too. Plus, God’s word commands us as Christian parents to tell our children about Him.
But sometimes, navigating that is easier said than done. When they’re young, you’re not sure how to share your faith so that your children will understand. As they grow, you wonder how to talk to them about Jesus in a way that they’ll receive well.
So, how can you make sure your kids are hearing about Jesus every day, in a way they’ll enjoy and understand at every stage? Do what these families are doing:
“My son & I always listen to your station, going to/from school. He’s been listening since he’s in Kindergarten. He’s now in 5th grade. He sometimes hums to some songs. It warms my heart as a mother to know that God has touched my child’s heart.” – Ellen, Glen Burnie
“We now have two children who listen along. Our oldest who is 2 and a half loves the “get up” song (I Thank God by Housefires). Thank you for all you provide to our community.” – Zack, Towson
“I’ve been a listener for as long as I can remember. My mom played WRBS at home when I was growing up, and after I moved out on my own, I dialed in to hear the old familiar music and ministries. Today, it’s become an old friend.” – Andrew, Columbia
Parents in Baltimore, DC, the Eastern Shore, and beyond use this station to share their faith with their kids. It’s simple, but God loves to work big things in simple, seemingly ordinary ways. As your kids listen, they’ll have fun singing together, and the lyrics they’re singing will be about Jesus. The songs you hear are often written out of scripture and are full of the hope of the gospel. So, go ahead—share them with your kids. Maybe even take the 30-Day Challenge together, and see what seeds God plants in their hearts.
