REMINDER: You Are Not Bugging God
NEWSFLASH: God wants to help you. You are NOT bugging Him when you go to Him.
If you think, “Surely, God has more important stuff to do than to listen to my little problems…”
Maybe to your ears that sounds like an appropriately reverent, respectful thought. But I want you to know you’ve got this wrong.
Our God is a God who wants to HELP YOU. He is always for you and longs to be the ONE that you go to with all your stuff. Go ahead and bug Him.
Take him all your problems, joys, frustrations, triumphs, defeats, even the things that seem so minuscule and unimportant…Take them to God. It’s all important to Him.
…And by the way, you’re not bugging Him.
“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you, He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!”– Isaiah 30:18
Isn’t that breathtaking? And the same verse in the amplified version says (emphasis mine):
“…And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship!”
What do you want to bring to God today? He can’t wait to hear about it.
