What Do You See In The Mirror?

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
- David, Psalms 139:14
Do you look in the mirror and think of this verse? I think it’s a good spiritual practice to do just that – even say it out loud.
Many people I know struggle with their self-image, and over the years I have too. I would look in the mirror and see a mess. I would search my heart and see a tangled up mix of motives-some almost pure, but mostly selfish ones.
I would feel disappointed in myself daily. And if I didn’t get some new information, my self-assessment would make me just give up. And this is one of the bazillions of reasons why I need the Word of God.
It’s new information – new data “in” that “forms” a better perspective. God’s word heals our thoughts, helps us see the way He sees, and washes over our souls with love – real soul-cleansing, truth-telling, course-correcting, fully-knowing, life-breathing, never-quitting, LOVE.
God loves how He made you. If you don’t, is there something you know that He doesn’t?
