There’s Strength In Sharing Your Burden

Ever been going through a really tough time in your life, but you couldn’t tell anyone because you’re the strong one, you’re the leader, and you’re the one who everyone runs to?
Hi, I’m Steven Price and this is the story of my life.
Being a “strong one” for people is no light responsibility. Obviously first, I’m the rock for my wife and children, they come first above everything and anything else. But then, throughout my life, I’ve always kind of been the de facto “leader.” Whether it was leading a group to Creation, organizing an event, whatever it may be, Steven has always been the leader.
Paul tells us in Galatians that we are to share each other’s burdens. Maybe you’re like me and have asked yourself, “Well if I’m the strong one, how can I share my burdens with others? Won’t that make me look weak?”
Here’s the answer:
No.
Why? How? What?
The body of Christ, also known as the Church, functions ONLY when the members are working together for the common good, and a common goal. What better goal than to make Jesus known to the world, am I right?
So listen to me today, friend. Whether you’re the leader of the pack or you’re the one who needs help, find your community. Because when you find that community, you develop a support system that will help point you to God, point you away from the past that tries to drag you down, and put the cross before you.
Galatians 6:2 “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”
