The Verse No One Wants To Test

In 2006, O.J. Brigance was diagnosed with ALS. This terrible disease robs a person of the ability to do just about anything on their own, including eating and breathing. This is O.J.’s reality every minute of every day. But, he’s a man filled with joy! The same can be said of his wife Chanda.
Nehemiah 8:10 “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” This is a verse that I have (if I’m being honest) turned into a cute inspirational saying at times. O.J. and Chanda remind me this is actually the powerful, life transforming Word of God.
The Brigances are also living out another Bible verse that no one would choose to test or ever turn into a cute inspirational saying.
