Be Set Free From Living For The Applause

Alright, so I’m going to be real with you on a whole new level, so brace yourself.

Success is something that I struggle with because I want it so bad. I want to be the best husband, the best father, the best Pastor, the best concert promoter, and the list goes on and on.

The world teaches us that prosperity and success comes from having power, from knowing people and having connections, and the obnoxious and relentless desire to always get ahead. Here’s the problem…the world isn’t God, and this is what God told Joshua: You need to be strong and courageous because the road ahead is going to be tough.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”Joshua 1:8

He told Joshua that he needed to obey His law. God also told Joshua to study His Word.

Now by those standards, you’re probably not going to succeed in the eyes of the world but…the last time that I checked, I’m supposed to be living for the world to see nobody but Jesus.

My friend, the world can’t offer you anything remotely close to what God offers you, so quit trying to live for the applause.

Join me as I stop living for the applause. It’s not what God wants. What God wants is when the world sees us, they see Jesus all of the time.

Living for the world to see…well, you know the rest. πŸ™‚
