Oreo Truffle Treat Recipe

The Holiday season is on its way out, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop making some sweet treats. These Oreo truffles are and too easy to make and too good to pass up…
Oreo Truffles
Ingredients:
- 1 Package Oreos {Regular size not Family size}
- 1 Package Cream Cheese {8 oz}, softened
- Melting Chocolate
- In my experience, chocolate chips do not work very well. The best brands that I’ve always used and have had success every time is Wilton Candy Melts, Ghirardelli (specifically melting chocolate wafers), and Candiquik.
- Sprinkles
Directions:
- In a food processor, or plastic bag, crush up the oreos. Once all crushed add the cream cheese and blend until well incorporated. It should resemble a sticky cookie dough consistency.
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take the dough and form into (whatever size/shape) balls ya like. Put pan in the freezer until dough is cold and completely frozen. (This step is crucial for the next step of dipping).
- Have chocolate melted and ready to go.
- Take truffles out of freezer and immediately start dipping. Since their cold decorate with sprinkles or toppings right away. The chocolate will set super fast.
- Store in the fridge.
Enjoy!
Different Combinations:
Vanilla: Substitute original chocolate oreos for vanilla flavored then dip in white chocolate. It tastes like cookie dough!
Strawberry Cheesecake/Strawberries ‘n Cream: Make a vanilla dough following the above version, then add either frozen or fresh strawberries diced in tiny pieces. (The juice from the frozen strawberries turns the dough a pink/red color and adds extra flavor) Keep in mind the dough will be more sticky from the moisture in the fruit. Freeze good then dip in white chocolate.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Surprise: Make the regular chocolate version cookie base, with chocolate oreos. Then as your forming the dough, smash the ball until flatten and spread a big dollop of peanut butter in the center. Fold together and continue rolling carefully in a ball (with the dough wrapped around the peanut butter). The peanut butter is a surprise! Continue with recipe as follows. Freeze, dip, enjoy.
