Molly’s Minute: Whose Expectations Are You Chasing?

Do you ever find yourself worrying too much about other people’s opinions?
If your answer is yes, I’m with you.
I never want to be in conflict with anyone. So, I often find myself chasing other people’s expectations of me and people-pleasing just to keep the peace.
But can we seek the approval of other people while also seeking the approval of God?
Galatians 1:10 says that, “If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
We can’t chase everyone else’s expectations and God’s expectations at the same time. Because what other people want to see from us is often not going to be what God wants to see from us.
We have to choose whose approval we’re going to chase.
So, if we try to please anyone today, let’s try our best to please God.
Galatians 1:10 “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
