Molly’s Minute: When We Realize We Aren’t In Control

The other day, the realization that I’m not in control of this thing hit me like a ton of bricks.
I was thinking about my family and about how I can’t stop them from getting sick. And I kind of started to freak out; I got really anxious, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Maybe you’ve gone to that place, too.
Not being in control in this situation is pretty terrifying. Because that means we can’t make things work out well for us and for the people we love.
But then, in the middle of this freak-out I’m having, God came in and reminded me of something important. He reminded me that no, this isn’t in my hands—but nothing ever really is. It’s all always in His hands.
And there are no better hands to be in, not even our own. Because God’s will is perfect. He knows the plans He has for us, and they are good.
So, if you’re feeling anxious because you’re realizing things aren’t in your control, I’m with you. And I’d encourage you to remember who is perfectly in control.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“
