Molly’s Minute: The Good In Good Friday

April 7, 2023

The other day, my husband Vaughn and I looked back on a night early in our relationship—a night spent entirely in the hospital.

At the time, we wouldn’t have called it a good night. But when we looked back on it, we were able to smile and even laugh.

Because on the other side of that terrible night, we experienced joy and growth.

Today, we remember how Jesus was tortured and died on the cross.

It was not a good day. But we call today Good Friday, because of what came after.

Hebrews 12:2 For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

We’re able to call this day “good” because of the future joy and salvation that it made possible.

So, if you wouldn’t exactly call today a good day for you, don’t lose hope. It is possible that one day, because of what’s still to come, you will.
