Molly’s Minute: The Everything-Nothing Attitude

The people who know me well will tell you that I don’t like to talk about the things I’m good at. In the words of my husband, Vaughn, I tend to under-sell myself.
I do that because I never want to brag; I want to pursue humility.
But I read something today that made me wonder if I have the right mindset when it comes to being humble.
It’s from Joyce Meyer, and she says, no, we shouldn’t think too highly of ourselves. But we shouldn’t think too lowly of ourselves, either.
She says we should have an “everything-nothing attitude” about ourselves.
That means remembering that you are everything with Christ if you’re feeling down on yourself, and remembering you are truly nothing without Him when you start to become prideful.
An everything-nothing attitude. Everything with Christ, but nothing without Him. I’m gonna try to remember that.
1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.”
