Molly’s Minute: Stressed Out? This One’s For You

February 27, 2020

Imagine that you’re juggling.

Maybe you can’t juggle—I certainly can’t—but imagine that you can. And some of your juggling balls are made of glass and some are made of rubber.

If you drop the rubber balls, it’s no big deal. They bounce a little bit, and you can pick them right back up.

But if you drop the glass balls, they shatter.

That’s what life is like.

We’re juggling all these responsibilities.

And we get stressed when we treat rubber balls like glass balls. When we make some responsibilities more important than they really are.

If you’re stressed out today, I want to remind you that not every ball you have in the air is a glass ball. Some of them are, like your faith, your family, and your career. Those are important and certainly made of glass.

But some of them are rubber. And if you mess up and drop them, it’s okay. They won’t break. They’ll just bounce, and you can pick them right back up when you’re done taking care of the glass ones, the important ones.

Decide which balls are glass and which are rubber today, and you’ll feel so much less stressed.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”
